Justice Ijem Onwuamaegbu was today sworn in as the Acting Chief Judge of the State by Governor Willie Obiano due to the retirement of the State Chief Judge Justice Peter Umeadi from active service.

The event took place at the conference hall of the Government House Awka at twelve noon in the presence of serving and retired judges, Senior Advocates of Nigeria and other legal practitioners, families and well wishers of the new chief judge.
Justice Ijem Onwuamaegbu’s name will go down in history as the first female Chief Judge of the State since the creation of the new Anambra State in 1991
