Nasarawa state: 7 killed, Residents Flee Homes In a Retaliatory Attack By Suspected Herdsmen


Suspected herdsmen invaded Kardarko community in Nasarawa, in a retaliatory attack, killing seven people and injuring others.

Seven persons were reportedly killed and several others injured on Tuesday, January 30 2018 in an attack believed to be retaliatory attack following the slaughter of 73 cows by cattle rustlers on Sunday, January 28 according to ChannelsTV.

Malizumedia.com gathers that two people were also injured in the reprisal attack which began as early as 1:am when the community was invaded by the suspected herdsmen who then proceeded to unleash mayhem.

 

The state governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has paid a visit to the affected area to commiserate with the victims. The Governor assured residents that justice would be served and commiserated with the victims of the attack.

 

He also disclosed that the mobile police unit would be deployed to restore calm to the area. However, the governor’s entreaties were met with anger from the residents who called for the Army to be deployed instead. Residents of the area have reportedly fled their homes following the attack.
