Pope auctions £185.000 Lamborghini gift for charity!!

Pope Francis was gifted a Lamborghini Huracan on Wednesday , but the Vatican said there was no future as a popemobile for the Italian supercar.

The Huracan, which has a top speed of more than 300 km per hour with a price rated at 185,000 euros (219,000 dollars)in Italy, will instead be auctioned for charity, a statement said.

Francis was given a specially prepared Huracan model, and the unusual gift was presented to the pope at the Vatican by the top management of Lamborghini, which is part of Germany’s Volkswagen Group.

The Pope’s blessing of the car is likely to ensure that it sells for far more than its original value. When he was given a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in 2013, it sold a year later at auction in Paris for $327,000, despite retailing for around $13,000.

Proceeds from the auction at Bonhams went to a hostel and soup kitchen for the homeless at Rome’s main train station.

Hope Nigeria private jet pastors will learn from this.

God bless the Pope.
